New Body Camera Footage Reveals Tensions Between Police and Secret
Service During Donald Trump Assassination Attempt in Butler, PA
Butler, PA — Newly released body camera footage has shed light on
growing tensions between local police officers and the Secret Service during
the failed assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump on July
13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The footage, which has sparked heated discussions regarding security
protocols, shows several officers voicing frustration over an alleged lack of
coordination and communication with the Secret Service, responsible for the
former president's safety. In the video, one officer angrily says, "I told
them they needed to put guys here... the Secret Service... I told them to put
guys here." Another officer adds, "Why weren’t we on the roof? I
assumed there would be agents on the roof."
The video also reveals a new angle showing the attacker on the roof,
raising further questions about the security strategy implemented that day.
According to authorities, this new perspective reinforces concerns about the
lack of coverage in critical areas of the event.
The July 13 incident has led to an internal review of security protocols
at both the local and federal levels in an effort to prevent future
communication failures at high-risk events.
As of now, the Secret Service has not commented on the video.
