The rumors, which initially surfaced in 2023, claimed that Ortega and Depp had been seen together while allegedly filming *Beetlejuice 2*. The gossip quickly spiraled, suggesting the two were in a serious relationship. Ortega, however, made it clear that there was no truth to these claims.

 

"[The craziest rumor about me is] probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp, and I wanted everybody to leave us alone," Ortega said during the interview. "It's so insane to me. I never spoke on that. I never said anything like that."

 

While Ortega admitted that she found the rumors somewhat "hilarious," she emphasized the harm in media outlets spreading baseless stories.
