Beatrice's Ex-Boyfriend Found Dead from Suspected Drug Overdose
Reports have
emerged of the tragic death of Paolo Liuzzo, the former boyfriend of Princess
Beatrice, in a Miami hotel from a suspected drug overdose.
Liuzzo was
discovered lifeless at the CitizenM Miami WorldCenter Hotel on February 7, with
his time of death recorded at 3:34 pm, just 12 minutes after police arrived at
the scene. Sources close to Liuzzo revealed his ongoing struggle with substance
abuse and significant debts incurred from a problematic gambling habit,
including dealings with loan sharks.
Princess Beatrice,
who had been romantically involved with Liuzzo since she was 17 years old in
2005, received the devastating news shortly after her mother, Sarah Ferguson,
disclosed her diagnosis with skin cancer.
Liuzzo's troubled
past included encounters with law enforcement, including allegations linked to
the death of a student and possession of cocaine. Despite these issues, details
of the case have been kept private due to Florida's public records laws.
According to his
death certificate, Liuzzo worked as a consultant in the art industry and
resided in an apartment near the hotel where he was found. A funeral service is
scheduled for February 16 in his hometown of Long Island, New York.
A close friend of
Liuzzo described his struggles with addiction and mounting debts,
characterizing his lifestyle as fast-paced and high-risk. The friend expressed
concerns over Liuzzo's reliance on pharmaceutical drugs, escalating to cocaine
and more potent substances, which ultimately trapped him in a "vicious
cycle" of borrowing money to cover past debts.
The tragic demise
of Liuzzo serves as a somber reminder of the perils of substance abuse and
addiction, leaving loved ones grappling with profound grief and unanswered
questions surrounding his untimely death.
