Texas man charged with murder following discovery of woman's body in closet. Stay informed as details of the case unfold.
The tragic death of 27-year-old Corinna Johnson has led to murder
charges against her partner, 34-year-old Omar Lucio, after her body was
discovered wrapped in bedding and hidden in a closet at his apartment in
Dallas.
Garland Police Department received a distressing 911 call reporting the
death, prompting them to alert Dallas Police Department. Upon arrival, officers
found Lucio inside the apartment, initially resistant to exit. Eventually
complying, Lucio was placed under arrest.
Inside the apartment, officers followed a trail of blood leading to the
grisly discovery of Johnson's body concealed in a bedroom closet, wrapped in
bedding. Further evidence was found in Lucio's vehicle, including bloody
clothes.
According to court documents, a witness recounted Lucio admitting to
assaulting Johnson after a dispute at a bar, resulting in her becoming
unresponsive. Lucio allegedly confessed to beating her with his bare hands
while inside their car.
Despite Lucio's admission of snapping and assaulting Johnson, details
surrounding how she ended up in the closet remain unclear. Johnson's family,
deeply saddened by her loss, described her as a vibrant individual, while
expressing concerns over her relationship with Lucio, citing previous instances
of bruising.
Lucio is currently held at Dallas County Jail on charges of murder,
along with additional charges related to street racing and involvement in a
collision causing bodily injury. As the investigation continues, Johnson's
loved ones grapple with the devastating loss of a cherished family member.
