Trump Prioritizes Ending ‘Transgender Lunacy’ in Sports Upon Reelection
Arizona,
USA
— Former President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to curbing the
inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports, making it a central
promise of his campaign for the 2024 presidential election.
Speaking
at the AmericaFest event in Arizona, Trump pledged immediate action if
reelected, saying, "With a stroke of my pen on Day 1, we’re going to stop
the transgender lunacy."
He
detailed his intentions to sign executive orders aimed at restricting
transgender participation in schools, the military, and sports. Trump
emphasized that his administration would officially recognize only two genders:
male and female.
The
former president also revisited past controversies, notably criticizing Olympic
women’s boxing champion Imane Khelif, who faced gender eligibility allegations
but is not transgender. Trump mocked Khelif’s competition, saying, "Who
wants men to participate in women’s sports?"
Khelif
later expressed the emotional toll of such remarks, stating, "The noise
from politicians and celebrities hurt me deeply. It affected me a lot, but I
overcame it."
Trump's
stance has ignited both support and opposition, intensifying debates about
transgender rights in sports and society. With his inauguration set for January
20, if elected, his policies could reshape these discussions nationwide.
