James Symond pays tribute to his wife Amelia, who lost her battle with cancer days before Christmas, leaving behind their young daughter
James
Symond, former Aussie Home Loans CEO, shares a heartfelt tribute to his late
wife, Amelia, who passed away from cancer two days before Christmas.
Sydney,
Australia: Tragedy struck just two days before Christmas as James
Symond, a prominent Australian millionaire and former CEO of Aussie Home Loans,
announced the death of his beloved wife, Amelia Beau Finlay Symond. She was 45
years old and the mother of their five-year-old daughter, Stella Rose.
In
an emotional post shared on a social media platform for former company staff,
Mr. Symond described himself as "terrified and broken" by the loss
but pledged to remain strong for their daughter. “You are the love of my life,”
he wrote, expressing his eternal devotion to Amelia.
The
couple, who married in 2019, faced tremendous health challenges over the years,
both battling severe forms of cancer. Amelia's stage four breast cancer
diagnosis came just two years after James himself was diagnosed with multiple
myeloma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the bone marrow.
James
previously opened up about his health journey, revealing that he had been given
just weeks to live after his initial diagnosis in 2017. However, through a
combination of treatments, including a bone marrow transplant and ongoing
chemotherapy, he has managed to defy the odds.
Amelia’s
condition had been particularly difficult for the family, especially given
James's health struggles. Yet, their mutual resilience was a testament to their
love and commitment.
"God
speed, and till we meet again, my gorgeous girl," James wrote in his
tribute, accompanied by a touching photo of Amelia and their daughter.
The
news of Amelia's passing has sent ripples of grief across the community, with
friends, family, and colleagues offering their condolences.
James
Symond retired from his role as CEO in 2021, stepping back to focus on his
health and family. Amelia's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of
those who knew her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and
fighter.
