Sean 'Diddy' Combs denies sexual assault allegations from 120 new victims, claiming innocence amid pending lawsuits and ongoing investigation.
Diddy Issues Denial
Amidst New Allegations from Over 120 Alleged Victims
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, the
iconic music mogul and producer, has issued a vehement denial from his jail
cell in response to a shocking wave of allegations from 120 new alleged victims
claiming sexual assault. These claims are set to be filed in multiple lawsuits
that span over 25 years, encompassing accusations from both men and women,
including minors at the time of the alleged incidents.
The new claims emerged
from Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, who revealed at a press conference that the
alleged victims comprise 60 males and 60 females, with at least 25 of them
being minors during the reported misconduct. Buzbee stated that one individual
claims to have been only 9 years old when he was abused. The allegations
stretch back to 1991 and include incidents reportedly occurring up until this
year.
Buzbee remarked on the
seriousness of the allegations, stating, “This type of sexual assault, sexual
abuse, sexual exploitation should never happen in the United States or anywhere
else. This should have never been allowed to go on for so long. This conduct
has created a mass of individuals who are injured, scared, and scarred.”
Buzbee's firm reported
that over 3,280 individuals contacted them alleging victimization by Combs.
After careful vetting, they chose to represent 120 clients, with ongoing
reviews for other cases. The alleged incidents primarily occurred at parties in
New York, California, and Florida, where victims were reportedly drugged and
coerced into sexual acts, often under the guise of promises related to success
in the entertainment industry.
Diddy, who is currently
incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, has pleaded not
guilty to charges related to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. In a
statement released through his attorney, he characterized the media coverage of
the allegations as a "reckless circus" and categorically denied any
claims of sexual abuse, including those involving minors.
His attorney stated,
"Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory
any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to
proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be
established based on evidence, not speculation."
The legal landscape
surrounding Diddy has become increasingly complex, as multiple lawsuits are
expected to be filed in New York and Los Angeles over the next month. These
lawsuits add to the mounting legal troubles for the music executive, who is
also facing prior allegations of sexual assault from other individuals.
Buzbee indicated that
some of his clients have already communicated with the FBI, hinting at a
broader investigation into the claims against Combs. The nature of the alleged
misconduct—including reports of drugging victims and coercing them at industry
events—paints a troubling picture of the entertainment landscape and the
potential for exploitation within it.
Diddy, 54, is one of
the most prominent figures in hip-hop history, having founded Bad Boy Records
in 1993 and collaborated with numerous legendary artists, including Notorious
B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Usher, and others. He has won three Grammy Awards and is
known for his ventures in fashion and media, including the fashion line Sean
John and the Revolt TV network.
As Diddy’s legal
battles continue to unfold, the coming months will be pivotal in determining
the outcomes of the numerous allegations and lawsuits, as well as the broader
implications for his career and legacy in the entertainment industry.
